Maddy and I met in painting class. We were both struggling with creating shadows in our still life assignment. We also bonded with the same appreciation for a much needed snack time halfway through class. Maddy somehow manages to get paint on her face every single class period. We had this ongoing joke that she was just using it as makeup: highlighting and contouring her face. Then we thought, might as well take some pics with her whole face covered.
So one sunny, average Saturday afternoon, we went a little crazy and dabbed a little black paint here and brushed some gold paint there, and somehow ended up with these cool compositions. It was really fun using a three-dimensional object as a canvas.
